10 Alternative Local State Quarantine (ALSQ) Hotels in Koh Samui
Update Feb 19, 2021: ALSQ (Alternative Local State Quarantine) was floated as an idea in October 2020 and although a few Koh Samui hotels applied (listed below), the planned program was never put into action. As such, there are currently no quarantine options on Koh Samui. Instead, you must quarantine at an ASQ (Alternative State Quarantine) hotel in Bangkok or near Bangkok before continuing your travel to Koh Samui.

Last week, I offered you the 70 best Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) hotels in Bangkok (or, a way to spend two weeks in an incredible city and see exactly none of it). This week, we’re just starting to get an idea of which Koh Samui hotels will be available for Alternative Local State Quarantine (ALSQ). (Or, a way to spend two weeks on a beautiful island … and see exactly none of it). Details are sparse at the minute, but if you’re on my email list you’ll be sure to get updates as they’re announced.
So far, only ten Koh Samui ALSQ hotels have been announced, but I’ve read that over twenty have applied (so stay tuned!). To date, the majority are on or near Chaweng Noi and, for what it’s worth, I would WAY rather spend two weeks in any of these ALSQ hotels than in Bangkok. (Why? Many offer private pools and most have ocean view options).
As with the Bangkok ASQ hotels, you can find the hotels below listed in order of their Booking.com review rating.
While pricing and package details haven’t been announced yet, the Bangkok information gives an early frame of reference.
