(Sausage) roll up to Angela's at Moonhut

Angela’s was recommended on our first visit to Samui way back in 2003. Proof in the pudding? Twenty years later, we're still going back for more.

Angela's at Moonhut

*Update: Angela's has moved from its former location to the beach at Moonhut Bungalows.

Why visit Angela's?

While winding down beachy back roadscan make the visit adventuresome, inside awaits a smiling staff and  beachfront respite. There's nice shade, with cool tile floors and lots of café quirk along Eiffel Tower lines. The operation, a small café with owner Angela almost always at the helm, is renowned amongst Koh Samui's best food options for breakfasts (English fry-up stuff, smoothies, etc), casual snacks and lunches (sandwiches, quiche, etc).

Whatever svelte things you’ve done with your bikini bod before Koh Samui, Angela will undo.

And yet you’ll still reach for that second sausage roll. (We think their special secret might be caraway seeds – only more research will tell).

Coffee

Angela's coffee comes with crema on top – always a reason to celebrate – and then there’s dessert. Pastries galore, cakes, pie.... a rather portly selection of expat regulars suggest repeat custom. Join in!

Baked goods

If you’re extra greedy or perhaps staying somewhere with a fridge, a full wall of ready-made deli offerings is always tempting. Freshly baked bread, nice cheese, and a great pie selection. Prices reflect quality ingredients and portions are extremely generous. (These sausage rolls we can’t shut up about? Bigger than our hands).

Visiting Angela's

Hours: 9 am to 9 pm daily, except 8 am to 6pm on Sundays.

Contact: Her Facebook page often announces daily specials and updates – “20kg of corned beef”, we’re listening.

Directions: Hoping to visit Angela's during your stay? Located on the beach, off Koh Samui's Maenam ring road,  it's likely you'll pass near Angela's at least once or twice during your stay. Pop Moonhut Bungalows in your Google Maps and you're on your way to beachfront bacon.
